Just wanted to send a quick thank you to all the instructors, the super nice lady at the front and the studio in general. It's a highlight of my week to attend any class at yoga down and I am truly grateful that this studio is in Okotoks. Today the instructor invited us to ask what we wanted to experience, and I thought of peace and your studio always does that for me. Laying down with lemongrass cloths on my head is pretty much the best thing in the world, haha. The tea after is so lovely, everything. So thank you for creating a peaceful, still and beautiful space to breath in just for a second until we return back to our busy lives. I had such a lovely experience at yoga last night.
A warm & comfy studio that feels so soothing. Community tea afterwards where we get to know who is sitting beside us in class. A gifted teacher and friend. And when I left someone had put a note in my shoe reminding me how great life is. Thanks Yogadown for all that you do to make yoga a mind, body, soul & heart filling experience. - Lisa Kawalauskas 2016
For me, yoga has made a huge difference because I could see myself improving each class. Yogadown's teachers encourage and teach the postures to your own level of comfort and flexibility. The variety of instructors for the classes ensures each class is unique and inspiring. Yogadown made me feel welcome, at home and never out of place. If you are thinking of trying yoga, No matter your knowledge or level of experience, I highly recommend Yogadown if you want a wonderful experience.

Working with Jerusha and the Yogadown instructors has helped enhance the physical education programs at our high school. The students are very receptive to the instructors and are engaged throughout the classes. They bring a variety of teaching techniques and styles to suit the interests of high school students. As a teacher, I appreciate the level of professionalism displayed by the instructors and how reliable Yoga Down has been to work with. Thank you Jerusha and The Yogadown team!
Want to give a should out to all the amazing teachers at Yogadown. Truly inspiring! I try to make every Friday night candle lit restorative. This amazing class has helped heal my body through the postpartum period (including a terrible bout of postpartum depression). I could literally feel my body being healed after this class! Yogadown is an awesome studio, we are very lucky to have such a space of light and healing right here in Okotoks.

Hi Jerusha: I just wanted to thank you and everyone connected with Yogadown for giving me a foundation for my yoga practice. I must say that your instruction has opened new doors of learning. I have promoted Yogadown to anyone I speak to that may be traveling that way as the best place in the west to experience all that YOGA has to offer. Thanks again and say Hi to everyone. Namaste

I remember driving by Yogadown numerous times before I finally worked up the courage to walk through the doors. Once inside, I found a safe space to explore and unwind my body and mind, and knowledgeable and compassionate teachers to guide me through my practice.

"Allison, Thank you for leading me though my yoga practice each week. When I first came in I told you I didn't feel strong, and by the end man that changed. I felt strong and calm and focused. Last week at class I told you I was so done being pregnant and joked we should induce me in class. I left feeling calm and had such a relaxing day. That evening I had my beautiful baby girl at home. I laboured and birthed and felt powerful and strong because I had strong legs and a strong mind and you helped me with that. Thank you and I recommend your class to every pregnant woman I know. Thanks again!"

The 40 Day Personal Revolution Program was amazing! "My Awakening" as I like to call it! I learned so much about myself. Sharing our stories our experiences thru laughter and much needed tears! I know if I took this class again I would grow and learn more every time! It's endless what we can be taught about life. I have more courage and confidence. The most valuable gift I walked away with was how to breathe again and that all is going to be OK. I invite you to experience this challenge! It really is life changing! I'm not even kidding!

I loved my first two very impromptu classes, and am very much looking forward to more! Jerusha and Tara were a couple of the best teachers it has been my pleasure to work with. They were both professional and compassionate, and I loved the lemongrass towel at the end - lovely touch! I am convinced that yoga is one of the most important things that is going to get my old body through my job is very physically demanding, and I was really suffering when I came in, but I am delighted to say that after 2 hours, I feel soooo much better. So, thanks for the welcome, and look forward to seeing you guys regularly!
I love everything about Yogadown. I just moved to Okotoks from Ontario and Jerusha & her staff have been so friendly, exactly what I was looking for. The studio has all kinds of programs to suit everyone.
I attend the morning classes, try to do 3x week and each class is so different, in that each week they change the routine so you get a new prospective each time you go. I have only been doing yoga for about a year, so I am not able to do all the moves like some people, but Jerusha keeps reminding me that everyone is at a different level, it is what you feel at that moment in your practice.
I was in a car accident 2yrs ago and broke my heel, so this is the best exercise for me now. I have improved so much in my posture, strength & mental state that I thrive on yoga now. Yoga has made me a better person. This studio has certainly made all this happen for me.Thanks Yogadown! Keep up the good work.

I love that yoga allows me the time and space to both escape myself and find myself, my heart is calmer, my soul is more free and grief that used to have it's grip on my life has been released and transformed into peace and acceptance. Every time I show up on my mat I feel like a better person, stronger both on the inside and physically. I am so happy to have chosen Yogadown as my studio. The energy is always positive and full of love, the instructors are skilled and comforting; I feel like they push me to push myself and are (literally and figuratively) there to catch me when I go too far:)
-Robyn Ostlund 2013
Since the day I walked in, I have always felt at home at Yogadown, and my mat is one of my favourite places to land. Through practicing yoga I gained a deeper understanding of my true desires and begin to live in alignment with my dreams. Yoga has challenged me- mentally, physically, and emotionally. Yoga is such a transformative and powerful tool, and when I am on my mat I feel centered, and it allows me to be present and connected to the moments unfolding in front of me. I feel that presence is a gateway to a magnitude of experiences and growth. When I am present I can truly hear, see, and feel, I can be a part of my life and others lives fully & authentically. Yogadown to me is a safe place to practice acceptance and connection. Thank you Jerusha & the whole Yogadown Team! -Alyssa Dawn 2013
I found yoga through Yogadown Okotoks where I became a regular of Jerusha's classes. I left her classes feeling empowered, connected and excited about life. Just over a year ago I moved to BC, and I certainly miss Jerusha and her classes. Every time I come back to Alberta I make sure I attend her inspirational, fire building classes. Jerusha you are a light. Thank you for leading with your heart and guiding me through life changing transformations!! Ginourmous Love!!!
-Ali Fowler 2012
I took a prenatal yoga classes with Jerusha toward the end of my pregnancy. I had an extremely stressful pregnancy, and could not sleep most nights, but the nights I had yoga class were the only nights I slept well! Jerusha was adorable, and everyone was very friendly and laid back. I definitely felt welcome and comfortable. Thank you for the great experience!
Yogadown is the first studio that made me look at yoga from a completely different perspective. I was a person moving from studio to studio, never improving my physical practice and never really feeling anything before, during or after my visit to the studio. After moving to the south of Calgary, I somehow came across Yogadown on the net. Intrigued, thought I would go and check it out escaping the busyness and craziness surrounding the downtown Calgary studios I was used to. It felt so good to be in that studio, and to meet all of the inspiring teachers that took time to learn your name and talk to you about your life, your practice and everything in between. It quickly became ‘my studio’. The feeling of community at Yogadown is what keeps drawing me back. I knew that I wanted to take my own practice further spiritually and mentally so after chatting with a few of the instructors that I had become friends with I decided that I wanted to do my teacher training as well. It has really brought me out of my shell personally and professionally. I completed my RYT 200 training in 2011 and feel honoured to be a part of the family at Yogadown.

In 2007, my relationship with Jerusha began not only in the form as a team member (both working at Yogadown Yoga Studios Canada), but as a friendship as well. Our relationship has been one of honesty and intent. Over the years I have watched Jerusha grow both personally, professionally and spiritually through her use of honesty, enthusiasm, love and trust. Jerusha is a huge inspiration to me. She leads amazing heart felt yoga classes and is a powerful leader in the yoga community is heart warming. I am proud of Jerusha for her accomplishments, continued growth and inspiration to others and especially proud to call her my friend. Keep on shining Jerusha!
Yogadown not only changes bodies, but changes lives. The work you guys do is amazing.

When I moved to Okotoks from Ontario I came to Yogadown for yoga to unite body, mind and spirit and to find some inner peace, some patience. What I got was a life changing transformation.....a personal revolution. Thank you Hali and all the wonderful instructors at Yogadown. You made me feel welcome and part of the community. I look forward to your future guidance on my yogic journey.
-Jenn Hilmer 2009
I joined Yogadown after taking one yoga class at another studio with a friend, so I was completely new to the world of yoga and was not sure what all of this “twisting & breathing” was all about. ;) What started as a curiosity quickly grew to become a genuine love & respect for the role my yoga practice plays in so many areas of my life. The teachers at YogaDown have been a huge part of facilitating my growing passion for yoga. Besides being very knowledgeable about the physical aspects of yoga, they have also acted as mentors & friends in a personal sense, and I have come to think of the community at YogaDown as my extended “yogic family”. J I am grateful for the chance to practice with these incredible people, and I hope to be part of this diverse & passionate group for many years to come!

This was my first time ever taking any yoga... and am I ever glad I went to Yogadown! The teachers are all super friendly and helpful, they are very knowledgeable about their different kinds of yoga and use the best possible ways of teaching it to beginners. I absolutely love yoga now and think I have become obsessed with it almost! I am loving it that much. I just wanted to let everyone out there know that yoga really is life changing, and has already helped me so much in the short amount of time I have been practicing. I want them to keep up the good work in teaching, being so helpful and making their studios the most welcoming places out there! Good job Yogadown!!

I found the Personal Revolution program to be challenging, difficult, insightful, and always rewarding. The challenge for me was to complete the assignments and expectations that the course outlined while carrying on with everyday activities. It was difficult to practice all the home assignments but the weekly classes that brought everyone together and the confessions of everyone else's difficulties, along with Hali and Loretta's support that is was 'ok', took the pressure off. I gained a lot of insight into how my emotions and physical state reacted/depended on diet. The yoga practice itself was incredibly rewarding and I swear kept me sane through a very hectic period. I would definitely recommend the program to anyone who was interested and would like to think that I will do it again sometime in the future. Thanks again to Hali and Loretta, we are very fortunate to have you both and the Yogadown studio in our community.

The thought of yoga was always a bit daunting for me. I just never thought of myself as the “yoga” type. I tried a couple different classes in Calgary and always felt so out of place. Before I could even wrap my head around downward dog, yet alone have my body in the position correctly, they were off to the next sun salutation or some other pose that was completely over my head. Then a couple of years ago, a friend of my suggested we take a weekend workshop in Okotoks at Yogadown to learn the basics of yoga. I was skeptic to say the least but was willing to give it a try. Hali ended up being the instructor and from the moment I walked into her studio I felt at ease. There is a presence about Hali that just lets you feel relaxed. The workshop ended up being amazing. It completely changed my mind on yoga. I finally understood the basic poses and was introduced to the concept of simply respecting your body. As many of you who do yoga know, it is not about pushing yourself beyond your capabilities but more about allowing yourself to “just be”. ….to accept what and who you are at that particular moment. Yoga is about setting intentions for yourself and your practice for that day, for that moment. It is such a welcome relief to have a place to go to get away from the pressures and expectations of everyday life and others and just allow yourself to be what ever you are that day. I have been going Yogadown now for about 3 years. I do not go constantly and often I find myself letting life take over. I let myself get caught up in the hustle and bustle of these times. But when I do find my way back to Yogadown, Hali and the rest of her staff, are always just as welcoming as the first day I stepped into the studio. I do love yoga. I have tried several different classes offered at Yogadown and do have my favorites but I will let you discover your favorites for yourself! Bottom line is yoga grounds me. I am by no means the picture perfect yoga student but I try. I find a peace of mind, calmness and a sense of “self” when I practice yoga. I get a great workout and I am able to come to a place were there are no expectations. I am welcome to” just be”. For that I thank Hali and all her staff!!

During my first Kundalini class I remember having thoughts like: "What is this?", "This is so weird?", and "I won't be doing this again!" but was back soon after for a second class. Since attending Kundalini classes I have noticed I am more aware of and better equipped to cope with stress through breath, almost as if my breathing automatically recognizes and changes to what is needed in any situation. I have also noticed that I leave a Kundalini class feeling lighter in body and uplifted in spirit. I am now looking forward to attending the Wednesday evening registered classes that work through all of the body energy centers. Thanks Theresa and Hali,

Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the "personal revolution" program Being a "newbie" to Yoga, I found the opportunity intriguing, challenging and thought provoking. I want to commend yourself and your team for the professionalism, expertise and willingness to make everyone as comfortable as possible with the Yoga practices! WOW! I am hooked! The most important thing I am walking away with is "Being Present" - I have spent many years worrying about the future - this program has challenged me to embrace, breathe and walk in the moment. It is a challenge - but I am working at it. The second most important thing for me during this program was realizing that I do have layers that I need to investigate and soul search. I think I managed to remove the first layer or two - but have a ways to go. I did recognize areas that I need to focus on - important areas - so...thank you!! I look forward to learning more and more about Yoga. I find you and your team very inspirational! Cheers!
-Brad Fowler 2008
In the early '70s I took my first yoga classes.
Result - not hooked. In the late 90's took more Yoga classes. Result - hooked for a year. 2008 to now - I am experiencing an exciting re-birth of my "Yoga life". Yogadown offers me awesome experiences not only in changes for my body but more important for my peace of mind. The inner joy and peace I feel when I leave classes is unexplainable by mere words. The instructors at Yogadown are well versed in their teachings and are very respectful for each of the students and any physical limitations they may be
encountering and are always eager to assist students during class. I would not hesitate to recommend Yogadown to anyone who expresses even a remote interest in Yoga.

I really enjoyed the Personal Revolution program.
I have been coming to Yogadown 2-3 times a week since September 2008 and it has been an amazing positive change in my life. I have always been active but would quickly lose interest after starting fitness programs. Yoga speaks to me from a deeper level and has changed the way I see the world around me. Not only am I able to achieve my a good physical work out with yoga but the mental and emotional benefits have been invaluable. Daily meditation decreases my overall levels of anxiety and the most importantly using my breath to overcome personal challenges in the studio and in my everyday life, I have never felt better and more at peace. My goal is to one day complete my teacher training program and I hope this can one day be made possible with my continued practice at Yogadown and completing more programs like the Personal Revolution. A special kudos to Loretta for her honesty and inspiration.
-Jenni Chinski 2008
The 40 Days to a Personal Revolution program was excellent. It offered a real opportunity for some soul searching - something too few of us do. I believe we are all accountable for our own lives through the choices we make, and this program asks direct questions to ensure we are on the right path. It was interesting for me as I went through a rough patch with my life last summer where I was desperately doing some soul searching, and in hindsight I wish that it was as structured as what Baron offered. I would definitely be interested if you were to offer it again in the fall.
-Mel Lutes-Vicente 2008
I have been practicing yoga for 8 years. As a mother of two it becomes a challenge to find a a studio that has such flexible hours. Yogadown has allowed me to maintain my practice with ease. I have become open to all styles of yoga thanks to the diversity that Hali has brought into her Okotoks studios. So, i would like to say thank you to Hali for introducing a well balanced yoga atmosphere in Okotoks we definitely are appreciative!!

We had a wonderful experience celebrating Sydney's 10th birthday party at Yogadown! She & her friends enjoyed the flowing yoga & restorative poses with props & music. Hali provided the prefect array of activities that included henna tattoos and nail polishing. Hali's strong passion for yoga is contagious and her energy & unique ability to engage & motivate the whole class was amazing. It will be a birthday to remember
-Cindy & Sydney Campbell 2007
Two years of injury rehab, many years of commuting in a car and spending quite a lot of time at a desk, and ignoring stretching as a part of my fitness routine left me with quite a lot of VERY tight spots around my entire body. To combat this chronic tightness I scheduled the help of Hali for one on one yoga sessions. Now just 5 sessions into my package of ten I feel my body opening all over. My hips have increased in movement by at least 50%, as have my back and shoulders made significant improvements. I can't wait to see the results I achieve after my full ten sessions, and then I'll be 100% sure to book another ten after that. Hali's approach is gentle while encouraging, and she knows just the right postures to create the perfect amount of discomfort; my body melts away.
From the moment I walked through the front door at Yogadown I was able to leave the busy world outside as the décor and atmosphere of the studio bring me peace. It is evident that a great deal of thought was put into only selecting the highest caliber instructors, designing the studio and planning the classes. My other athletic pursuits have been significantly enhanced because of the superior yoga instruction that Yogadown has provided. I am grateful that Halie created Yogadown as it has given my children and me the opportunity to journey in a new direction both spiritually and physically.
-Lorna Elder 2007
I sit for 10 hrs in a car as a member of the Calgary Police Service. After doing yoga my stretching and flexibility has improved. Hali has a knack for finding the problem areas and focuses on them. Thank you very much. I will be working on my yoga for a long time to come.
-R Burton 2007
As a yoga teacher I have been doing yoga for many years. Finding Yogadown when I newly arrived in Okotoks was a true blessing. The teachers are not only extremely competent but compassionate. The individual attention to each student is simply impressive. Thanks Hali. Your have made a tremendous contribution to the community and to my experience in Okotoks
