Program Overview
Yoga can be seen as an endless journey – a journey into discovery & healing. My 200 hour yoga teacher certification program will help you create a life where you live from your heart, whether you are looking for a career in teaching yoga, or you are seeking deeper self knowledge.
My program is designed for serious individuals, who wish to turn up the heat within, which will enable them to share yoga or whatever it is in their lives they want to share with passion, clarity and authenticity. You will graduate from this program as an inspirational being – bringing inspiration to all aspects of your life.
The joy of yoga is that it is a practice. A practice of presence – when you are present you are clear. When you are clear, you are able to see when you are being inauthentic, which provides an inspirational awareness which allows you to choose action (as opposed to re-action) in response to any situation that arises in your life. That is what my teacher training program is all about – being authentic, not only as a yoga teacher, but as an individual. You cannot teach what you do not have. If you are fearful, you teach fear; if you are phony you teach inauthenticity, if you are envious, you teach envy, and you are therefore a yoga instructor, instructing students through their poses without a clear intention. However if you are clear, you teach clarity; if you are real you teach authenticity, and it is the things of this nature that will allow you to become an Inspirational Yoga Teacher, and spread the gift of true yoga like wildfire.

Style of Yoga
I see the value in all yogic traditions & styles. This program emphasizes making yoga accessible to everyone, regardless of age or fitness level. Training is taught in a “non-denominational” style of yoga with emphasis on anatomy and teaching a safe, confident and heartfelt class with clear presence. Students will choose one of three styles of yoga to focus on: restorative, hatha or vinyasa flow (upon successful completion of this program, the student will be certified to teach the chosen style of yoga). |
About the Director, Hali McQuillan
Firstly, I am excited to bring my teacher training program to life! It has been in the making for 2 years! I love yoga and want to inspire new great teachers who teach for the love of yoga! The Alliance requires that I tell you about me! So here I go:
Yoga found me 14 years ago, lost, confused & indecisively flailing about my life eager to discover my purpose. When I first began, my yoga practice was inconsistent, but something kept pulling me back to my mat. It became clear that when I was on my mat, I experienced joy, real joy; without judgment or expectation, I was simply able to be. Simple, yet so fulfilling, I promised myself that I would always “be” and always follow my heart, to which I stayed true. There are times when my path becomes rocky & turbulent, and that is when I return to my mat, and allow clarity and the simplicity of being to return. I began teaching yoga in 2006. I am a Experienced Registered Yoga Instructor, with the Yoga Alliance, with over 1000 hours of training, and a certified Baptiste Yoga Instructor (the first in Alberta, second in Canada). I also hold certifications in Prenatal Yoga, Life Coaching, Ayurveda and Reiki. I am the founder of Yogadown Yoga Studios Canada, currently with 3 locations in Alberta, coming up on our fourth year in business. |
